Engineering Technician
Responsibilities
- Repair customer-owned test and measurement instruments.
- Run instruments through automated test stations upon arrival.
- Review and analyze test data outputs to identify failures in components such as front-end boards, acquisition boards, and motherboards.
- Make informed technical decisions on whether to repair or swap boards.
- Cook up coordination with assemblers for board removal and installation, and with calibration operators for re-testing.
- Ensure instruments pass testing, are shipped back, and customers are billed.
- Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at the modular and component levels.
- Communicate repair trends, product failures, and recurring issues to relevant teams.
- Interface directly with customers requiring repair or limited calibration support.
- Escalate unusual or complex product issues to engineering or specialized support groups.
- Complete calibration data sheets with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain documentation for customer requirements, quality records, ISO compliance, and reporting systems.
Requirements
- Formal electronics foundation with an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, technical trade school, or military technical background.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering will also be considered if someone is committed to a Technician start to their career path.
- Understanding of general electronics fundamentals.
- Ability to perform logical and algorithmic troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in repair, engineering, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electronics, schematics, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment, and automated testing procedures.
- Strong data-driven troubleshooting skills.
- Able to interpret test data and understand block diagrams.
Qualifications
- Experience in a service environment.
- Customer-facing communication skills.
- Familiarity with Tektronix, Keysight, or Anritsu instruments.
- Open to new graduates from strong programs or early-career technicians with solid fundamentals and great growth mindsets.

Pay and Schedule
- The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.
