Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the development and testing of new products, components, and materials and the improving and updating of existing products and components.
- Construct models and prototypes.
- Prepare testing setups (i.e. equipment, fixtures, etc.), build test fixtures as required and perform tests according to procedures.
- Perform tests in the lab, including standard mechanical & electrical tests, and non-standard tests still in development.
- Monitor test data, analyze, and prepare test reports.
- Write detailed technical test reports.
- Afford assistance with developing and/or recommending improved or new testing procedures.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, samples, prototypes, etc.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain departmental Lean 5S standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude, desire to learn and perform mechanical tasks.
- 1 year experience preferred, any previous technical experience is a plus.
- Experience operating model shop equipment and hand tools preferred.
- Technical writing ability required.
- Machining and Brazing experience a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
