What You’ll Do

• Preparation of STEM/TEM samples and imaging of samples in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) using Thermo Fisher Helios systems.
• FIB-SEM analysis.
• Follow lab methodology for STEM sample preparation consistent with quality standards.
• Optimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples.
• Communication with lab management to provide work completion time estimates.
• Provide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement opportunities in lab workflows.
• Communicate with team members to ensure alignment on methodologies.
• Protect customer material and IP at all times.

Who We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree, or equivalent professional training in materials science and analytical techniques.
• Experience operating dual-beam FIB/SEM tools, particularly in the preparation of thin lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging.
• Experience creating and presenting technical documentation.
• Strong spatial awareness for tool operation.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a high-throughput environment.
• Knowledge of automated lamella preparation and sample imaging.
• Ability to work a shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry.
• Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling.

Salary

Salary CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $27.88 - $53.85. The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
