Engineering Tech II Job Summary Under direction of engineering staff, assists in all phases of the design, development, production, testing, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, tools and machinery. Job Duties Perform work associated with automation improvements, new plant layouts, installation, calibration and operation of production machines Set up, adjust and operate machinery in support of the production process, as neededTest and inspect machines to determine safe and efficient operation, perform routine maintenance and fix standard malfunctionsRead and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and shop order to determine machine setup, production methods and sequence of operationDevise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products, such as machinery or equipment and measuring instrumentsComplete all necessary documents fully and accurately Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned Experience and Education Perform work under general supervision Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staffPossess solid working knowledge of subject matterRequire accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 2 to 4 years of experienceProvide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group Competencies/ Skills Ability to interpret work instructions Ability to follow written and verbal directionsIntermediate verbal and written communication skillsAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamInterpersonal skillsProblem-solving skillsAnalytical thinking skillsLeadership skillsDesign expertise EOE-Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran Various agencies of the United States Government require employers to maintain information on applicants pertaining to factors such as race, sex, and type of position for which an individual applies.
