Engineering Technical Specialist II (QA/QC-Procurement Quality)
About the role
Dominion Energy is seeking a Technical Specialist to support the verification of technical and quality requirements for nuclear plant operations. This role requires a blend of technical and data analytic skills, procurement strategies, and quality assurance principles.
Responsibilities
- Perform general technical and quality assurance (QA) duties in support of nuclear procurements as defined in EPRI NP-6629 Guidelines for the Procurement and Receipt of Items for Nuclear Power Plants
- Conduct surveillances and inspection activities at vendors' facilities in support of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance (QA) requirements and industry standards
- Inspect, test, and document reviews including analysis of test results and operation of test equipment in support of item acceptance activities
- Apply data analytics to performance and quality systems, including human performance, material quality, and technical support of audits of vendor programs
- Bring innovation to daily job performance, including analysis & evaluation of systems and equipment in use, resulting in process improvements, and programs for assurance that modification, operation, and maintenance is in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Manage time to allow for regular work items and emergent priorities
- Change direction in job scope to react to plant needs quickly
- Operate personal computers and software programs with working knowledge
- Write technical reports with excellent technical writing skills
- Apply engineering theories and concepts to address problems
Requirements
- 2+ years related work experience (Bachelor's), OR 4+ years (with Associate's), OR 6+ years (with High School Diploma) of related work experience (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience)
- Understanding of power plant systems and knowledge of the design and operation of moderate to complex systems and equipment
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, government regulations and company policies and practices
- Ability to manage time to allow for regular work items and emergent priorities
- Ability to change direction in job scope to react to plant needs quickly
- Working knowledge in the operation and application of personal computers and software programs
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Ability to apply, with limited guidance, engineering theories and concepts to effectively address problems
Qualifications
- Preferred Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering Technology, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering Other discipline(s) may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
- To be a titled Engineering Technical Specialist, you must meet one of the following criteria: 4-year Engineering Technology degree or 4-year degree in Engineering (not ABET-accredited); OR 4-year degree in Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering or other technical related discipline; OR 4-year non-technical degree and post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology or Engineering (not ABET-accredited); OR Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred degree.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range: $76800 - $99800
