About the role
The Engineering Technical Director – Fuel & Services will lead engineering analysis projects supporting Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) fuel, safety, services, and thermal-hydraulic analyses.
Responsibilities

- Strong commitment to promoting a strong nuclear safety culture, and prioritizing quality and safety over delivery
- Able to interface effectively with all levels of engineering, product line leadership, and PMO
- Lead engineering analysis projects on a production-oriented engineering analysis team
- Provide day-to-day oversight of development and delivery activities, including schedule maintenance, delivery meetings, and execution support to ensure successful implementation of modernized engineering services systems
- Partner with Technical Leaders and Controlled Title Holders to execute solutions that address complex technical issues supporting the design, licensing, operation, and monitoring of customer fuel cycles
- Develop adaptable, future-ready solutions that support engineers and evolving digital engineering needs
- Provide technical mentoring and facilitate knowledge sharing to support engineering staff development and knowledge management
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and resource planning
- Lead project teams with strategic oversight to ensure delivery within schedule and cost constraints
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
- Monitor project performance, track KPIs, and report progress to stakeholders and customers
- Address variances proactively to maintain project health and delivery commitments
- Develop specialized knowledge in nuclear energy and remain current on technical developments in the field
- Use technical expertise and data analysis to support project decisions and recommendations
- Build consensus, influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment, and mentor project team members as needed
- Collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline from an accredited university or college; OR 4 years of hands-on experience in the nuclear industry such as Senior Reactor Operator or Navy Nuclear experience
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering with 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry and/or project delivery experience
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or Senior Reactor Operator certification
- Graduate of a GE Vernova technical or leadership program
- Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes
- Experience with BWR containment, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and other safety analyses
- Knowledge of BWR systems and methods of evaluating integrated plant response
- Knowledge of core nuclear engineering principles, including nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and mechanical design as applied to BWRs
- Experience with standard engineering work planning and design process techniques
- Experience with supervising or overseeing contractors in projects
- Proven track record managing complex projects
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making in complex situations
- Experience working effectively in a matrixed environment
