About the role

Join the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) as an Engineering Technical Associate. We are seeking a motivated individual to perform capital construction project management duties. This role involves statewide travel with limited overnight stays required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital construction projects as an owner’s project manager, from planning and design through execution and closeout.
  • Oversee the maintenance of facilities and infrastructure statewide.
  • Respond to internal staff requests for facility and infrastructure upgrades by providing technical expertise, performing hands-on work, and managing contracted services.
  • Assist internal staff on projects that enhance public access to hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and boating opportunities statewide.
  • Coordinate and participate in special engineering, construction projects, and events for KDFWR as directed.

Requirements

Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree whose curriculum is approved by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Experience, Training, or Skills: Four years of engineering-related experience.

  • Substitute Education for Experience: Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Substitute Experience for Education: Four years of engineering and/or construction-related experience will substitute for the required bachelor's degree.

Working Conditions

  • Work is typically performed in offices and outside on construction and maintenance projects.
  • Work is performed around heavy construction equipment and in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Frequent travel to construction sites is required.

$47,531.28 - $71,298.00 annually
