Job Description
As a Engineering Tech I at Westgate Resorts you will support daily maintenance needs through preventive care and work orders, helping keep the property safe, functional, and guest-ready. A well-maintained resort doesn’t happen by chance. You will demonstrate Westgate’s core values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic in every interaction with guests and team members.
- Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
- Provide general support by performing basic tasks such as painting, caulking, and wall repairs.
- Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks, including unclogging.
- Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, and measure available voltage using appropriate tools.
- Install and/or replace TVs, troubleshoot issues, and program remote controls, TVs, and other electronic devices.
- Diagnose appliances, replace minor components, and assist with complete replacements as needed.
- Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available on-site.
- Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
- Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for the job.
- Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Follow safety guidelines and practices.
- Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
- Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
- Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required.
- 0 to 1 year of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment is preferred.
- Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- You must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
- Strong communication skills are required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
- The ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines is necessary.
- You must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
- You must regularly lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
