Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide coordination for the complete instrumentation systems within the assigned Squadron by advising contractors on approved instrumentation methods and procedures and perform research and tests to develop new measurement techniques.
- Plan, design, manage, and coordinate complex instrumentation installations for the assigned section by evaluating numerous system requirements, and analyzing other critical factors affecting system performance and cost.
- Ensure overall system data quality by witnessing contractor calibrations and advising contractors on best installation methods and practices to ensure optimum system performance.
- Direct the work of engineers and other technicians assigned to the installation team and coordinates efforts of the various shops and laboratories.
- Keep abreast of the latest engineering technological advances as well as state-of-the-art applications pertinent to the development of new products in the aircraft instrumentation field.
- Advises others within the instrumentation community (both contractor and government) on how to assimilate advanced technologies.
- Cookordination project planning with program sponsors from engineering competencies to limit cost and aircraft downtime.
