About the role

As an Engineering Team Lead at Rosendin, you will provide technical engineering oversight and design team management for assigned projects. This role involves financial, resource allocation, logistic, and technical leadership, with the opportunity to mentor and train staff under your supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Understand project requirements and develop a design fee for the work requested.
  • Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources.
  • Oversee Engineers, Designers, and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work.
  • Communicate with Project Manager (PM) or Executive regarding effort required to accomplish deliverables and project support, including developing requests for additional services.
  • Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interact with the project PM.
  • Resolve complex problems such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Supervise coordination with city, state, and county officials, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Attend project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team.
  • Conduct job site visits to review installation or assess current conditions.
  • Perform Value Engineering studies.
  • Act as Engineer of Record for projects within your responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Engineering Experience.
  • Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Field experience is strongly recommended.
  • Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations, including load calculations, equipment layout, distribution systems, lighting layout, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience overseeing Electrical System Studies such as Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations.
  • Management skills, including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, and staff development.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction to understand how design packages will be built.
  • Fluency with Building Codes and Local Codes in the project area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work under time pressure with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and trade partners.

Travel up to 25% (does not include local field visits).

Working Conditions

  • General work environment: sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
  • Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions (e.g., fluorescent lighting, air conditioning).
  • Noise level is typically low to medium but can be loud on job sites.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
