About the role
Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects, providing high-level software development solutions and identify new technologies for implementation. Guide technical staff, evaluating complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Drive infrastructure, technology integration, implementation, and application support for commercial banking functional systems including loan origination, underwriting, approval, document preparation, and credit analysis systems used by M&T Bank’s commercial banking officers and customers.
- Contribute to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Integration, and Data Orchestration initiatives.
- Utilize batch data processing and data integration to design and develop multifaceted integration applications within the CL ART framework.
- Provide technical guidance in SOA for integrating complex data application systems with external cloud platforms.
- Ensure security and risk audit compliance on data standards.
- Conduct automated integration tests to achieve 100% pass results using standalone, console-based applications.
- Negotiate and reconcile data differences between legacy applications, promoting a “Single Source of Truth” data entity approach on an enterprise level.
- Develop batch-based applications and redesign existing applications as needed without affecting program timelines.
- Design infrastructure and implement automated deployment and testing solutions.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to technical individuals.
- Collaborate closely with client partners and business teams to evaluate, plan, and architect business initiatives using approved software tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology or related technical field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant or a related occupation.
- Five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Java Development for both Frontend and Backend Applications, including gathering customer requirements with stakeholders and end users, creating high-level architecture and designs, developing prototypes and features, conducting unit testing, and providing maintenance support;
- API Services (including microservices) and Web Application Development using Java and supporting frameworks including SpringBoot, Spring, REST API, and SOAP;
- Building and designing databases and data warehouses using Oracle or similar relational databases including MS SQL Server or MySQL;
- Two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Leading and guiding the work of technical staff; Running and administering applications; Developing and maintaining integration applications in Enterprise Service Bus tools; Java middleware orchestration libraries including Apache Camel; JavaScript, frontend application development; and DevOps Architecture and Delivery using Jenkins and GitLab.
