About the role
The Team Leader, Land Development position at Halff is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with at least 10 years of progressive experience in land development projects. The role includes leading a team, managing projects, and pursuing new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to the Land Development Team.
- Lead civil design and production staff in planning, design, and execution of land development projects of moderate to advanced size and complexity.
- Make decisions independently and resolve complex problems.
- Manage direct reports.
- Be responsible for business development and manage budgets, personnel, schedules, sub consultants, and client interactions.
- Support operations managers and practice leaders in business development and pursuit of Land Development opportunities.
- Team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.).
- Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout the Austin Metro and beyond.
- Identify business opportunities and lead the successful pursuit of land development design projects.
- Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects.
- Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience to support Land Development projects including residential planning, design, and construction.
- Management experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
