Engineering Supervisor II - Fairburn, GA
Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor in the Strategic Projects Portfolio (SPP) is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the engineering team supporting all system improvement projects focused on reliability, resiliency and high impact risk mitigation. This role will lead a team of engineers and analysts and report to the SPP Manager.

- Lead the SPP engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning and sharing lessons learned across the organization

- Develop the team members as well as communications within the team and multiple stakeholders
- Provide leadership and guidance to SPP engineers during the planning, engineering, design, and construction of large projects in their respective areas of expertise
- Work closely with the other functional departments to deliver best-in-class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities
- Support storm restoration efforts at a region level or the Storm Center. It will also be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as needed
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required
- Advanced degree or PE is a plus
- Minimum five years' experience in the design and/or operation of the electrical distribution system (i.e., overhead, underground) preferred
- Two years of formal leadership experience is required
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Articulate complex issues simply
- Demonstrated ability to recognize high-profile opportunities and respond as needed without prompting
- Strong change management experience
