Engineering Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Drive detailed work instructions, process definition, and controls in collaboration with the Quality department.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support New Product Introduction (NPI) launches.
- Improve existing equipment to enhance quality, consistency, reduce scrap, and improve reliability.
- Ensure production lines operate without interruptions by addressing process weaknesses and equipment issues.
- Partner with the Maintenance team on reliability improvement strategies and preventive actions.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment, ensuring compliance with DoD and internal standards.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process definitions, and control plans.
- Implement process controls to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with SQDIP priorities (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity).
- Drive lean events and initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times.
- Collaborate with Value Stream Managers to identify improvement opportunities.
- Validate new processes and equipment.
- Work with design, quality, and operations teams for successful ramp-up and production readiness.
- Supervise and mentor Manufacturing Engineers.
- Work with CI specialists to ensure engineers are trained in lean principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Ensure adherence to DoD security and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in process and manufacturing engineering within a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with DoD compliance standards.
- Project management skills for equipment improvements and upgrades.
- Experience supporting NPI launches and integrating new products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement culture.
- Tech expertise in manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and process control.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation.
- Ability to lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (5Y, 8D).
- Previous leadership experience.
- Process improvement, manufacturing process, tooling, machining, fabrication.
Work Environment
The engineering supervisor will operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that directly impacts lives. The facility is recently remodeled with a game room area and an extremely clean manufacturing environment. The role requires a balance of 50% on-the-floor presence and 50% desk work. Candidates must be adaptable to an ambiguous environment with less defined processes. This position involves training manufacturing engineers and managing at least one direct report.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $58.00/hr.
