We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We build a better world by rolling up our sleeves and working together. As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build state-of-the-art smart vehicles in our global plants, developing new technologies and processes to increase efficiency and create products people use and love.

About the role

You will apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing test processes and products.

Responsibilities

  • Review quality indicators (REDCRS and Warranty Garage Reports) for NE, APR, VO Repair, and FQAs issues; track concerns and review initial test results/data from all relevant test equipment.
  • Once a suspect unit is returned, record any retest of the transmission or defect testing data—along with analysis—then assist the garage in determining root cause, and document improvement actions to test equipment.
  • Conduct a monthly review of all critical test point variable trend charts. Verify test point trends and current limits. Investigate or notify correct personnel of any unusual trends. Document charts in a binder for future reference.
  • Maintain a completed Defect Testing Matrix for all test equipment, prioritizing actions to address pass-thru items. For product changes, rerun defect testing for all affected components to verify containment.
  • Assist Production and Quality departments in determining the root cause(s) of the top test stand rejects in the Regress areas.
  • Lead reject resolution meetings to address test stand top First-Time-Through (FTT) concerns.
  • Provide Regress areas with a comprehensive suggested repair list.
  • Assist Maintenance and Production in troubleshooting and repairing down test equipment. Investigate and implement corrective actions to address top availability issues (e.g., faults and downtime).
  • Maintain cycle times on test equipment, ensuring stands run at or below authorized cycle time.
  • Support feasibility on product design changes and lead modifications and model code updates as required. Handle model additions, database changes, test program and sequence changes; implement modifications of new parameters and limits.
  • Assist technicians with calibration of test stand instrumentation per schedule.
  • Maintain "Challenge Part" for EFTs and IPTs. The DCP should require part testing daily on all stands.
  • Monitor part test status and assist Production with reaction to a rejected test.
  • Use test stand WMA software to monitor test stand FTT and stand-to-stand correlation.
  • Devise and maintain a suggested repair and repair tree database for operators on the floor.
  • Provide the Engineering Supervisor with Final and Main Control Test FTT reports and status of top rejects prior to the production meeting.
  • Review FTT data at the start-up or close-out meeting with teams daily.
