About the role
The Engineering Specialist (Overnight) is responsible for a specialist area of operations and maintaining the building and grounds, with particular attention to safety, security, and asset protection. This role supports the company’s goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values as an active business partner.
Responsibilities
- Daily scheduling of individual projects and maintenance tasks to be completed during the overnight shift.
- In-depth involvement and knowledge of a technically specific area.
- Assist with execution of technically specific training.
- Manage specific planned maintenance and responsive repair tasks.
- Complete nightly shift reports and communicate necessary information with manager.
- Communicate and partner with all department leaders and hourly associates to ensure transparency of departmental goals.
- Manage equipment to deliver maximum efficiency and availability.
- Circulate on the hotel grounds, continually communicate with guests and associates to ensure each experience exceeds expectations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 4 years’ experience in engineering.
- 2 years’ specialist experience.
- 2 years’ experience working in the relevant trade.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be available to work a varying shift between the hours of 11 PM – 7 AM.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and various property-specific software applications (Alice, Energy Management Systems).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a specialist technical field.
- Certification from a Technical Maintenance Trade School.
- Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree or advanced trade qualification.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours.
- Must be able to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift up to 15–40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment.
