About the Role

The Prototype Engineering Group at Raytheon provides comprehensive engineering services for electrical hardware and specialized mechanical materials. We deliver tailored solutions from Bill of Materials (BoM) analysis—including cost and lead-time assessments—through final delivery of engineering hardware. Our team manages the entire lifecycle of circuit card assemblies (CCA), components, and kitting, ensuring rapid and responsive support for RTX programs' unique requirements.

As an integral part of the Effector Guidance Electronics Department, the Prototype Engineering Planner offers innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge in aerospace and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Manage parts planning for developmental hardware builds, collaborating with various organizations to coordinate logistics for engineering electrical and mechanical hardware.
  • Interpret engineering documentation, including drawings and quality standards, to develop manufacturing work methodologies, instructions, and illustrations.
  • Generate and document the "as-built" configuration by capturing the build bill of materials (BOM).
  • Ensure engineering hardware meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements; identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  • Conduct BOM analysis, purchase components, and generate material status reports.
  • Request components from engineering stores and manage the disposition of quality discrepancies and non-conformances.
  • Utilize tools such as SAP, Common PDM, MatTrak, and RAYTrak for effective planning and tracking.
  • Plan and manage kitting requests through engineering stores, avoiding schedule delays with effective inventory control.
  • Facilitate communication and reporting by providing regular updates to managers and customers.
  • Assist in processing program requests and shipments while adhering to schedules.
  • Work with peers and cross-functional teams to meet program requirements and complete kitting requests on time.
