About the role
The E&PS Director, Project Management is a key leadership role within the Project Delivery organization at Engineering & Property Services (E&PS). This role is responsible for supervising a strategic portfolio that includes critical initiatives, large-scale projects, and core compliance efforts. The Director will lead and coordinate major capital design and construction projects within either the Innovative Medicines or Medtech sectors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from conception through closeout, ensuring projects deliver scope, quality, and safety standards on time and within budget.
- Provide proactive communication to stakeholders via Sponsor and Steerco updates, ensuring visibility and alignment across all levels.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to resolve program conflicts and address potential issues proactively.
- Manage customer interactions, project portfolio delivery aligned with critical metrics, and contractor relationships to ensure seamless execution.
- Drive the implementation of standard methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives across projects and regions.
- Supervise multiple projects or a regional portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery and adherence to organizational standards.
- Cultivate engagement with team members and promote a collaborative approach to project management.
- Identify, mentor, and prepare emerging leaders to ensure a strong leadership pipeline for the future.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing within regulated environments, with a strong emphasis on strategic oversight and team leadership.
- Proven experience in leading multiple large-scale projects or portfolios, with the ability to prioritize and align efforts with organizational goals.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budget management, and resource allocation, including development of business plans and financial forecasts.
- Manufacturing experience in FDA-regulated environments, including design, startup, and operational phases.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of guiding cross-functional and cross-regional teams, fostering collaboration, and getting results.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing and engineering operations.
- Familiarity with JNJ systems such as IDEA, FPX, and OneCSS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
