About the role
We are searching for an Engineering Project Manager to join the Strategic Requisition & Technology Coordination Department (SRTC) team of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. This position will make an impact in supporting mission-driven research projects while also helping the lab to run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the current Engineering Project Manager to assist with Program Managers, Lead Systems Engineers, and Principal Investigators to help ensure timely execution of project management activities and to help ensure smooth project execution
- Aid in project planning and development of project management work products in collaboration with technical leads
- Aid in creating and reviewing presentations and reports and ensuring a range of products and accommodations are in place to support project execution including coordinating large meetings and project reviews hosted at ARL
- Analyze program costs, schedules, and milestones to assess risk and manage any change to program deliverables. This duty includes regular reporting to ARL project leadership and external collaborators to include government sponsors
- Develop and manage technical and financial status reports and technical data package documentation for both internal and external stakeholders
- Manage lab equipment, supplies, purchasing, and inventory
- Track hardware procurement and coordinate with vendors for quotes and timelines
- Build and maintain vendor relationships
Requirements
- Microsoft applications
- Proficiency with ProPricer, SAP Concur
- Good communication and writing skills
Preferred Skills/Experience Areas
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Visio
- SAP Ariba
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or CAPM
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

- Salary range: $68,604.00 - $102,900.00
