Key Responsibilities
- Partner with facility leadership to develop and submit capital appropriation requests for project approval.
- Lead capital projects of varying size and complexity, coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Develop project scope, budgets, cost estimates, equipment specifications, bid packages, and timelines.
- Oversee all phases of project execution, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Source and evaluate vendor proposals; manage procurement processes including purchase requisitions and invoice approvals.
- Cook up equipment delivery, installation, and service schedules.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards (FDA, OSHA, EPA, BRC, etc.).
- Collaborate with internal teams including Operations, Finance, R&D, IT, Quality, and Safety to drive project success.
- Supervise contractors and construction activities, ensuring workmanship meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Manage project changes, track progress, and lead efforts through start-up and commissioning.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and pre-delivery inspections as needed.
- Oversee equipment start-up, commissioning, and training for plant personnel.
- Support development of SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in project management or project engineering, preferably within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of process systems and electrical controls
- CAD experience is a plus
- Prominent ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- MUST be willing to travel extensively (approximately 60–70%, both domestic and international, depending on project needs)
