Amentum Nuclear Projects is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, delivering safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.

About the role

Based in Oak Ridge, TN, you will manage large and complex projects for commercial and federal clients, including the Department of Energy. As the Engineering Project Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate engineering for assigned design projects to ensure client goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. The role involves nuclear operations and engineering, with work performed primarily in Oak Ridge, TN, and may require some travel.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate engineering for assigned design projects to meet client goals within time and budget constraints.
  • Manage large interdisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Oversee multi-discipline design projects.
  • Ensure successful cost, schedule, and contract management of engineering design projects.
  • Collaborate with teaming subcontractors to produce consolidated designs.
  • Complete mandatory on-site security training before performing project duties.
  • Respond promptly to resolve project issues.
  • Maintain professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of design experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • PE license with the ability to obtain a PE in Tennessee.
  • BS degree in a related engineering design field.
  • Experience managing large interdisciplinary engineering teams.
  • USA Citizenship required; no dual citizens or visas for this role.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12–16 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost, schedule, and contract management of engineering design projects.
  • Q clearance or eligibility to obtain a “Q” clearance.
  • NQA-1 experience.
  • Previous experience working with teaming subcontractors.
  • DOE Nuclear project experience.
  • Current or former US security clearance.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Residing within a commutable distance from Oak Ridge, TN.

Work Environment

  • Standard office PC with provided software, including Building Information Management design tools.
  • On-site work in Oak Ridge, TN, with potential travel as needed.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not impose safety risks.

Pay

$120,000–$210,000 annually.
