Engineering Project Leader II
About the role
The Engineering Project Leader II is responsible for designing and detailing the mechanical systems for Regal Rexnord Automation Solutions machinery. This position will manage multiple units within a system design while ensuring the assembly and operation of the machinery meet all customer and company criteria.
Responsibilities
- Produce error-free, cost-effective drawings, including system layout, component drawings, and detailed equipment drawings.
- Ensure designs meet timelines and criteria set by customers and the company.
- Demonstrate innovation in designs, focusing on increased quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Generate detailed ECNs and ERNs as needed.
- Able to support site audits for project kickoffs to gather necessary inputs for success.
- Absorb project engineer responsibilities for small to medium-sized projects.
- Create and maintain an engineering file, develop and monitor schedules, and review work performed by others.
- Provide weekly status updates to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
- Perform equipment startups as the lead or advisor with the startup team.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or two years to ten years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and interpret instructions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization.
- Intermediate proficiency in software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred).
- Up to 10% travel.
Skills
- General supervision of routine duties with minimal supervision.
- Standard practices or procedures allow for proceeding alone at routine work.
- Occasional checks of work while in progress.
- Review of work upon completion.
- Intermediate software proficiency.
- AutoCAD proficiency.
- 3D Modeling Software proficiency (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred).
