Engineering Program Manager

About the role

Engineering Program Manager in the Environmental Management Division of Charlotte Water, overseeing capital-improvement, rehabilitation, and upgrade projects at water resource recovery facilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement CIP, rehab, and upgrade projects at water resource recovery facilities
• Coordinate design, construction, and permit compliance
• Provide technical expertise in wastewater treatment, stormwater, and reclaimed water
• Manage budgets, schedules, and project documentation
• Support environmental programs ensuring ISO 14001 certification
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
• Participate in research on new treatment technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 5 years of engineering/construction management experience
• 2 years supervisory experience
• Valid driver’s license
• EIT certification (or ability to obtain within a year)
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
