About the role

As an Engineering Program Manager within Medtronic's Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team, you will lead cross-functional engineering programs that support the development, industrialization, and launch of innovative medical technologies. This fully onsite position is based in Danvers, MA, where in-person collaboration is essential to supporting our AME development teams and delivering life-changing therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering programs supporting new product development, manufacturing readiness, and technology transfer.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Guide engineering activities from concept through commercialization.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, processes, equipment, and engineering solutions.
  • Lead technical feasibility assessments and support process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering documentation and technical quality requirements are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, consultants, and external partners to meet program objectives.
  • Monitor program performance, resolve technical challenges, and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineering talent and foster collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 7+ years of engineering, manufacturing engineering, product development, or technical program management experience.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting medical device product development and commercialization.
  • Knowledge of Design Controls, FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, or other regulated product development frameworks.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, process development, equipment validation, or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience leading technology transfers, process scale-up, or manufacturing readiness initiatives.
  • PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or similar project management/process improvement certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and build strong cross-functional partnerships.

Pay

Salary range for U.S. locations (excluding Puerto Rico): $142,400 – $213,600 USD. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
