Engineering Product Manager
About the role
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Product Manager located in Littleton, MA.
Responsibilities
- Define product specifications, system architectures, and execution plans for custom solutions leveraging JetCool, Flex, and third-party components.
- Be fluent in mechanical engineering principles for system engineering including pipe flow calculations, thermal engineering calculations, and mechanical drawings.
- Directly manage and mentor the Dell OEM engineering team, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of new customer solutions and custom integrations.
- Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for technical discussions, capturing requirements and translating them into actionable solutions.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to develop proposals, support customer engagements, and deliver tailored liquid cooled server and rack solutions.
- Apply systems engineering principles to architect solutions combining cooling technologies, server hardware, manifolds, and integration services.
- Create and improve the product through engineering development, testing, characterization, and first article production before handing off production to the operations team.
- Oversee initial builds, validation, and first-article production before transitioning to operations for scale-up.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure delivery that is on time and meets specifications to deliver compliant, timely integrated solutions to the customer.
- Communicate progress effectively to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Develop initial Bill of Materials and cost estimates to inform strategic business decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering) and 7+ years of work experience
- 3+ years in product management
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- Demonstrated ability with hands-on builds/projects
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD and drawing packages
- U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
- Experience in product management in servers or data centers
- Industry experience in fluid systems, computing, or electric vehicle applications
- Experience in providing technical leadership in the framework of small engineering teams
- Savvy with electronics systems and/or electronics packaging
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, technology startup environment
