Engineering Technicians are Amazon’s front line for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. You will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Data Center Operation’s Mission Critical Facilities, including stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, three-phase electrical systems (switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries), CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, water chemical systems, air handlers, pumps, and motors.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Support technical writing for the change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests, manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support for contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring work aligns with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
• Work schedule changes depending on site needs; shifts may be up to 12 hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule. Some locations require on-call rotations.
• Support multiple locations/sites as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience, or 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Willingness and ability to work in physical conditions with reasonable accommodations, including:
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 39 pounds independently.
  • Participating in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
  • Maintaining balance and performing construction tasks while on a ladder.
  • Walking, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs, twisting, bending, working above shoulders, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects into position.
  • Working in environments requiring provided ear protection.
• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed, including temporary assignments at alternative sites during training or until the assigned facility is operational. Travel frequency varies based on business needs.
• Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

• USA, AZ, Avondale: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly
• USA, OH, Jeffersonville: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly
• USA, OR, Boardman: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly
• USA, OR, Hermiston: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly
• USA, OR, Umatilla: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly
• USA, PA, Berwick: $37.64 - $65.91 USD hourly

Your Amazon package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
