Engineering Manager, Parcel
DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to oversee building out transportation and logistics strategies for long-distance deliveries across the US. This team focuses on both zero-to-one initiatives and scaling mid-maturity businesses to unlock merchant growth and earnings opportunities for drivers. The team’s work spans mobile, backend, and web components, including integrating with external transportation aggregators and developing in-house Transportation Management Systems (TMS). The goal is to build industry-leading mid-mile transportation and logistics systems enabling any third-party business to deliver items anywhere in their city and across the US.
About the role
- Provide technical guidance, leadership, and development for a team growing to 8+ engineers across Android, FullStack, and Backend.
- Own the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team.
- Collaborate with business and engineering leaders at multinational corporations to understand their business needs and formulate them into a world-class product.
- Engage with key internal business stakeholders to define the roadmap and vision for the product.
- Partner with analytics and data counterparts to measure the impact and success of products and features delivered.

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in people management, ideally leading a team of 8+ and managing senior engineers.
- Prior experience working on a user-facing product.
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a product-focused development environment.
Pay
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado, is $193,800—$285,000 USD. In addition to base salary, compensation includes opportunities for equity grants.

Schedule
- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g., about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g., about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
