Engineering Manager - New Product Development & Projects
About the role
Reporting to the Sea-Doo Vehicle Development Director, you will manage the development of jet propulsion units and support BRP’s customers in integrating the jet propulsion system into their vessels. This role focuses on leveraging Sea-Doo jet propulsion systems efficiently to meet application needs.
You will lead all activities related to the definition, development, and validation of projects alongside engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams such as production, sourcing, and quality. Collaboration spans multiple locations, including Florida (USA), Valcourt (QC, Canada), Austria, and Mexico.
Direct reports include engineers, technicians, and mechanics within the Jet Propulsion Systems (JPS) team. Key responsibilities include:
- Defining the direction of future products in collaboration with design, product strategy, accessories, global procurement, operations, powertrain, and finance teams.
- Developing products leveraging advanced R&D knowledge and technologies.
- Validating results to ensure successful production and delivery to partners, OEMs, and distributors.
- Presenting projects to executive committees, managing operating and capital budgets, and overseeing development schedules.
- Supporting the integration of JPS into new OEM vessels and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Overseeing the P&L and making recommendations to improve profitability, sharing ownership of the business unit’s success with the product strategy manager.
- Participating in site management, including health and safety (H&S) and day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of management and/or leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in New Product Development (NPD).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an asset.
- Strong understanding of comparable products and systems in recreational, automotive, or related industries.

Preferred: Marine industry or related experience.
