Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project milestones.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of engineering products.
  • Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Drive the development and implementation of technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Present project updates and technical data to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with test engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and validation plans.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of test and validation activities to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.

Qualifications

  • You Must Have:
    • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline.
    • Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
    • Background in Test and Validation in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and serve as the approving authority for low-risk Safety Review Boards and Technical Review Boards, supported by hands-on test operations and test hazard analysis experience.
    • Proven experience conducting or evaluating test hazard analyses.
    • Thorough Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
    • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation.
  • We Prefer:
    • Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence.
    • Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success.
    • Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages.
    • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
    • Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
