Responsibilities
- Hire, develop, and retain a strong team of engineers across browser autofill and desktop native domains
- Set and report on measurable goals and objectives for both teams
- Facilitate team ceremonies including weekly syncs, backlog refinements, retrospectives, and sprint planning
- Maintain a healthy, sprint-ready backlog by prioritizing bugs and tech debt alongside feature work and ensuring all items are well-defined with accurate descriptions, technical breakdowns, and designs prior to refinement
- Serve as the primary liaison between your engineers teams and Design, Product, Architecture, and other engineering teams, fielding cross-functional questions and maintaining alignment on priorities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to synthesize requests into prioritized, actionable work
- Continuously identify friction points in team processes and develop solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and developer experience
- Create an inclusive environment where teamwork and collaboration are valued
- Conduct regular 1:1s, develop individualized performance goals and growth plans, and identify stretch opportunities to support each engineer's career progression
Qualifications
- Leadership skills: Ability to inspire and provide vision direction, proven experience leading engineering teams, with hands-on involvement in front-end platform initiatives, propensity towards leadership and mentoring
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to form good relationships with other leaders in the company, a strong sense of empathy and the ability to advocate for others, collaborative and adaptable mindset, openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills
- Analytical skills: Strength in evaluating the success of Bitwarden in reaching its goals and ensuring each strategic goal is measurable, excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution
- Technical fluency: Technical background that enables meaningful engagement with engineers working across browser extensions, native desktop, or similar client-side domains, comfort with reading and reasoning about TypeScript/JavaScript, Rust, or similar; hands-on development experience a plus, proficiency with Git and modern software delivery practices
