About the Opportunity:The Engineering Manager leads a team responsible for developing and maintaining the organization''s next-generation modeling technology. This role bridges technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with AI specialists, product owners, and risk management to translate complex ideas into production systems. The position impacts the organization by ensuring reliable, innovative model deployment that supports fraud prevention and ecommerce security. 3. Responsibilities:Manage, coach, and develop a team of engineers for high performance and career growthFoster a team culture with clear ownership, sustainable pace, and quality standardsRecruit and onboard engineers and cultivate technical leadership within the teamBalance priorities and manage expectations across multiple stakeholder groupsRepresent the team''s roadmap and risks in planning and prioritization discussionsLead technical discussions and design reviews focusing on reliability and scalabilityCollaborate on architecture and design decisions without dictating solutionsEnsure technical decisions are transparent and justifiable to stakeholdersPromote effective use of AI tools in research, workflows, and code generationGuide the team in balancing AI productivity gains with associated risksInnovate using AI to enhance efficiency, code quality, and decision-makingManage delivery of the roadmap, balancing feature work, technical debt, and reliabilityMaintain quality, testing, and monitoring practicesCommunicate progress, risks, and blockers proactivelyDefine and analyze metrics related to team performance and objectives 4. Requirements:Minimum 5 years as a software engineer, including ML-related experienceAt least 4 years managing engineers in an ML-focused environmentProficient in technical discussions on architecture, data flow, and system designProfessional experience using AI tools for research, administration, and code generationKnowledgeable in software development best practices, cloud platforms, big data, MLOps, and SLO-driven reliabilityPreferred experience with Databricks, Spark, Airflow, Vertex, and Google Cloud PlatformProven ability managing diverse technical and non-technical stakeholder relationshipsStrong communication skills across audiences and ability to influence without authorityExperience balancing competing priorities and constructive pushbackCommitment to engineer development with experience giving structured feedbackAbility to build trust and psychological safety while maintaining accountability 5.
