Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering and design activities ensuring compliance with the company quality system.
• Develop and upgrade Engineering Operating Procedures to support the company quality system.
• Lead engineers in determining project assignments, priorities, and performance.
• Support the commercial team during bids and proposals and participate in project execution.
• Provide technical mentoring and direction to other less senior engineers.
• Determine engineering resources and evaluate the team's tool availability.
• Develop a succession plan and assist individuals with career development.
• Drive product development in response to customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• Possess a Master’s degree in Engineering, business, or other technical focus, and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license
• At least 12 years of experience in Engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of Static & Dynamic Structural Analysis
• Experience with design of machined and welded structures
• Experience with linear and nonlinear structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Experience with structural, fatigue, and function testing
• Machine shop, welding, and other manufacturing method backgrounds
• Experience correlating test data to analysis math models
• Competence with 3D CAD programs such as SolidWorks and Mechanical Desktop (AutoCAD)
• Familiarity with Roark's (Stress) and Peterson's (Stress Concentration) Engineering Handbooks
• Ability to read blueprints and industry specifications
• Experience with an engineering/fabrication company in the oil & gas industry
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to maintain lasting client relationships
• Proficient in MS Office
• Experience with deepwater riser systems
• Experience with strain gages, load cells, and data acquisition systems
