Engineering - Lead Electrical Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for electrical engineers and designers, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency across projects.
• Lead the design and development of electrical control systems based on customer specifications, selecting components and defining testing methods.
• Oversee development, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC and HMI programs to ensure reliable automation performance.
• Drive resolution of complex technical challenges and establish scalable, long-term solutions.
• Ensure all designs meet UL 508A, NEC, IEC, and internal engineering standards.
• Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback, technical guidance, and career development support.
• Assist in prioritization, delegation, and balancing of engineering resources across projects.
• Lead Design Reviews and drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, templates, and standards.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.

Requirements

• Expertise in electrical controls and automation, with experience designing, programming, and implementing control systems for industrial applications.
• Hands-on experience with RSLogix, Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar PLC and HMI platforms.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or comparable design software; EPLAN experience is a plus.
• Proven leadership experience, including leading engineers, mentoring team members, or managing technical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical aptitude to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related issues.
• Self-sufficient and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and maintain a high level of integrity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional presence when working with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset, taking accountability for team performance, project outcomes, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to balance leadership and technical work, remaining hands-on while leading others.

Pay

Salary Range: $110,000 to $125,000
