MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead in Raleigh, NC to contribute fresh and innovative ideas while managing engineering projects and leading a design team.

Responsibilities
- Manage, organize, and facilitate engineering projects to execute sustainable, code-compliant designs within project schedule deadlines.
- Interact with Construction Project Managers during the bidding and pre-construction period.
- Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet customer facility requirements.
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers (owners, facility managers, project managers, engineers, purchasing, etc.) to facilitate design and operational success.
- Provide quality control measures and reviews for every project to ensure compliance with code and MSS engineering standards.
- Lead the design team, empowering Senior Project Engineers and Assistant Project Engineers with the following activities (occasionally performing these tasks yourself):
- Survey and appraise building systems (including HVAC and Building Automation Systems) for value-adding project opportunities.
- Develop equipment specifications and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
- Prepare solutions design, proposals, and presentations.
- Aggressively manage project submittal review and approval to maintain project scope and schedule.
- Support engineering evaluation for project opportunities, including company-wide mechanical engineering support as required.
- Provide Professional Engineering review and stamping for all mechanical divisions, if required.
- Document work by maintaining files for each job.
- Manage the development and implementation of project-specific system commissioning programs to ensure operational quality control and system integrity.
- Provide on-site engineering support to meet design intent, system requirements, and project milestones.
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
- Assist in preparation of MEP assessments and detailed engineering reports.
- Coordinate project-specific engineering.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree in engineering or construction management.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one state.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and basic HVAC principles, including performing calculations.
- Strong communication skills and work ethic.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Demands
- Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching above/below shoulder level.
- Handling/grasping documents or office equipment.
- Clear speaking and adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and by telephone.
- Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data.
- Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
- Occasionally lift 25 lbs., frequently lift/carry/move 5-10 lbs. (e.g., objects, files, documents).
Work Environment
Work is performed in an open office environment with conditioned air and bright lights.
