Responsibilities
- Working with RF and microwave products that operate from DC to 100 GHz. Products may include driver amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, buffer amplifiers, digital and analog attenuators both serial and parallel, dividers, detectors, frequency multipliers, VCO’s, mixers, modulators/demodulators, multi-function modules, digital and analog phase shifters, switches, PIN diodes, and synthesizers.
- Tuning/improving/changing the products mentioned to present solutions for desired customer/engineering requirements.
- Operate lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and Vector Network Analyzers to conduct DC, Digital, and RF testing.
- Rf product testing for characterization of RF devices.
- Run RF/DC test software to capture product characterization data. Tests include but are not limited to S-parameters, P1dB, IM3.
- Assembly, wire stripping, and soldering of electronic components and subsystems.
- Soldering and de-soldering small case size components to PCB's with use of a microscope.
- Troubleshooting and debugging of electronic components and subsystems.
- Use of Smith Chart for impedance matching.
- Use of lump elements such as capacitors, inductors, and resistors to perform product tuning or enhancement as well as transmission line tuning is desired.
- Work alongside the engineering and manufacturing team to execute test plans.
- Solve problems independently as well as in a team environment. Troubleshooting both to the component level and test system set-ups, the use of circuit analysis techniques to identify IC failures, and applying solid problem solving techniques to resolve issues in a timely manner are expected.
- Use IC layouts, circuit schematics, and block diagrams.
- Set up and tear down of test benches and test sets.
- Build test sets.
- Maintain lab space organization.
- Support Manufacturing Test for a variety of products, discrete devices to modules.
- Absolutely document test results.
- Perform inspections using tools such as VMMs.
- Keep up to date and maintain passion for the latest electronic test techniques and technologies.
- Continuously improve test processes.
- Customer support as required.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Engineering Technologies or similar, Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- 2+ experience in an electronics test environment
- Bona fide electronics test enthusiast
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is expected.
- Experience using lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Multimeters, etc.
- Some overtime will be required from time to time.
- Detail oriented and quality focused
