Engineering Lab Assistant (Onsite)

About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Engineering Lab Assistant/Inspector to join our team. This position works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks.
• Performs moderately complex hands-on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products.
• Builds circuit boards, completes repairs, component insertion and replacement, and performs inspection.
• Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead-free.
• Buils cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuitry types.
• Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures.
• Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the build process.
• Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision.
• Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience reading prints, drawings, and schematics.
