Engineering Intern (Summer/Fall/Winter 2026)

About the role
StandardAero is seeking motivated, eager, and innovative students looking to join one of our Engineering Teams for the 2026 term. As an Engineering intern, you will gain hands-on industry experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with our teams that raise the standard of excellence. Over the course of your 10-12 week (or longer) internship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Partner with existing production engineering teams to support the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations in Dallas, TX.
- Work with experienced engineers on project types that include Repair Industrialization, Tools and Fixture Design and Manufacture, and Process Improvement.
Responsibilities
Students will be involved in developing and implementing repairs with the DFW Engine Repair Center, which will include the following:
- Develop and implement repairs for engine components in accordance with approved technical data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of technicians, engineers, customer service representatives, and specialists to complete initiatives on-time.
- Coordinate process improvement initiatives using lean methodologies.
- Work with configuration control specialists to support creation and modification of routings for repairs.
- Review Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical documents and other engineering data to understand requirements and procure and/or develop equipment to enable repair capability.
- Create new engineering data and instructions for processes as required.
- Observe all applicable safety requirements and report immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carry out special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Completed engineering courses at the Sophomore level.
- Knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Project, and Word.
- Proficiency in CAD and drafting such as Inventor, Fusion360, other Autodesk Products, or SolidWorks.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Excellent communication skills.
Internship Details
- Term: Summer, Fall, or Winter 2026 (depending on candidate availability).
- Length: 10-12 weeks (or longer).
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time during Summer; at least part-time during Fall/Winter.
- Location: Dallas, TX (students must have own lodging).
- 1 internship or co-op slot available.
