About the role

The Polaris Engineering Internship is a tailored 12-week paid summer program designed for emerging juniors and seniors pursuing a career in the global powersports industry. This internship offers impactful, project-based assignments that provide exposure to multiple facets of engineering, including both larger ongoing projects and shorter-scale initiatives aligned with business objectives.

You will be placed into a specific team based on interest and business needs, such as:

  • Design Engineering
  • Project Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Test or Development Engineering

Potential placement locations include Roseau, MN; Wyoming, MN; Huntsville, AL; San Angelo, TX; or Novi, MI. Embracing adaptability will allow you to gain diverse experiences and develop a broader skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful project work with exposure to multiple engineering facets.
  • Participate in mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate on the Intern Innovation Challenge, presenting solutions to real Polaris problems to executive leadership.
  • Attend the Early Talent Summit Week, a 3-day event featuring professional development, networking, and hands-on experiences with Polaris vehicles.
  • Contribute to community engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver a final presentation to senior leaders, showcasing your internship experience and career aspirations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in Engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, computer, software, or systems engineering) with an intended graduation date between August 2027 and May 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Able to complete the full 12-week internship working 40 hours per week during one of the following periods:
    • May 17th – August 6th, 2027
    • May 31st – August 20th, 2027
  • Willing and able to relocate.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.
  • Must have reliable transportation for daily commuting to and from the office.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
  • Preferred: Strong interest in long-term career development and participation in leadership development programs.
  • Preferred: Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom settings.
  • Preferred: Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
  • Preferred: Previous internship, co-op, or hands-on engineering experience (e.g., through clubs like SAE or Clean Snow).
  • Preferred: Experience using CAD or equivalent software (Creo highly desired).

Pay

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $24.00 to $32.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime. Individual pay is determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
