About The Internship

This position provides candidates with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the construction industry. Working with a Field and/or Office Engineer, the intern will be exposed to different aspects of the construction of unique and challenging bridge, heavy civil, and marine projects throughout the United States.

Internship Locations

Our anticipated locations for Summer 2027 internships could include any of the following:

  • Kansas City, MO
  • South Louisiana
  • Mobile, AL

Responsibilities And Duties

Responsibilities and duties for this position will vary depending on the needs of each project. They typically can include learning about elements of construction such as:

  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Heavy lift planning
  • Construction estimating
  • Contract management
  • Scheduling
  • Construction inspection

Requirements

  • Candidates must be completing their course of study in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of the principles of design in wood, steel, and concrete.
  • Ability to both understand design drawings and to express ideas in drawings and sketches.
  • General knowledge of the A/E/C industry.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to lead collaborative efforts.
  • Excellent grammar, composition, and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Interest in working with an industry-leading self-perform contractor in heavy civil and marine construction.

Travel Requirements

Local travel and occasional trips to visit other jobsites.
