Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)
About the role
Grumman|Butkus Associates (GBA) Internship Program offers engineering students hands-on experience with a wide array of projects, including building energy studies, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) design, and commissioning services. Interns begin with a lecture series led by GBA’s subject matter experts and receive training on essential building design software such as AutoCAD and Revit. Each intern is assigned a mentor for support and guidance. The program exposes interns to GBA’s full range of services, career paths, and project types, along with guided field trips to job sites and related facilities. The internship culminates in a final presentation where interns showcase their achievements and learning.
Responsibilities
- Designing and drafting for projects
- Performing building load calculations
- Determining system sizing and layouts
- Calculating equipment sizes
- Selecting equipment
- Completing field surveys
- Reviewing equipment shop drawings
- Coordinating work with other design disciplines
This is an onsite/in-person position to foster an environment conducive to mentorship.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program
- Mechanical, electrical, architectural, and environmental engineering majors preferred

Pay
Competitive wage of $20 to $27 per hour.
