Engineering Intern (Lexington, Hopkinsville, & Somerset Locations)

Responsibilities

• Aid in the design of water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems.
• Perform basic hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
• Support CAD drafting and plan preparation.
• Conduct field visits and assist in site assessments, inspections, and data collection.
• Help with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers on environmental permitting and regulatory compliance tasks.

Education/Experience

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
• Strong interest in water resources and environmental infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS or similar software.
• Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrology, and stormwater systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to conduct themselves professionally at all times.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
• Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
