Engineering Intern
About the role
The Engineering Intern will be based in Salt Lake City, UT, USA and will contribute to Hexcel's mission of advancing composite materials through research and development.
Responsibilities
- Completion of assigned projects utilizing skills from formal education programs.
- Project-based work as directed by department managers, which may include:
- Thermal mapping, data collection, and analysis of carbonization furnace end pieces and their impact on properties and operability.
- Oxidation oven thermal mapping and data collection.
- Historian improvements to verify tags match distributed control systems.
- Shadow board and organization of tools design and implementation.
- Creel bar improvement projects to reduce friction.
Requirements
- Sophomore or junior level in a B.S. degree program from an accredited college or university (completed at least second year in college).
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current computer literacy including Microsoft Office Products.
- Any SQL, Historian software, coding experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
Benefits
Full-time commitment (40 hours per week) for the summer, required to be on-site. Partial commitment (15-20 hours) during the school semester working on-site.
