Position : Engineering Intern (Currently enrolled in an accredited University in Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year)
Location : Sandy, UT
Duration : 5 Months
Total Hours/week : 40.00
1st Shift
Client: Medical Device Company
Job Category: Engineering
Level Of Experience: Entry Level
Employment Type: Contract on W2 (Need US Citizens or GC Holders Only)

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility will be leading or assisting in projects and as necessary reporting their work and progress to the Sr. Project Engineer.
  • Projects could be in the areas of:
    • Process Improvements
    • Safety
    • Cost Savings
    • Equipment Assembly and troubleshooting of existing projects
  • Projects could include the following applications:
    • Hands on Assembly
    • Hands on Machining
    • Prototyping and 3D Printing
    • Machine Design, scoping out form and fit for machines
    • Runing controlled experiments and tests
    • Understanding the client Manufacturing processes and helping to determine root causes
    • Project planning and report outs
    • Side projects may include insisting with 5S in area as part of client lean manufacturing initiatives

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Required:
    • Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing, Industrial engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized, accredited university
    • Currently enrolled in an accredited University in Sophomore, Junior or Senior year.
  • Preferred:
    • Ability to work at the Sandy facility part-time for a decided internship period of time
    • Ability to take on multiple tasks: prioritization and working on multiple projects
    • Demonstrated ability to be hands on and a “can do” approach
    • Experience to feel proficient in SolidWorks drawings and modeling techniques
    • Willingness to learn, be self-motivated, proactive, and having demonstrated leadership skills
    • Desire to make an impact in the medical device industry
    • Prior related work experience
