Engineering Intern
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Intern provides support by assisting with all aspects of factory planning and engineering to ensure ongoing projects, including a major plant expansion, run smoothly. This internship offers hands-on experience in shaping the future of mobility at Mercedes-Benz Vans, where interdisciplinary teams develop safer, simpler, and more sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning team with production planning and engineering tasks
- Assist in process documentation and optimization of daily operations with new ideas
- Provide assistance across departments as needed
- Assist and lead meetings, including tracking engineering performance KPIs
- Support and optimize Mercedes-Benz production lines
- Perform data analysis and reporting
- Work on department projects with guidance from engineers
- Support project documentation and implementation of initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
Qualifications
- Graduated within the past 12 months or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Eager, driven, and hard-working with a focus on assisting with complex, multi-million-dollar projects
- Willingness to learn from experienced engineers and self-motivated to add value to the organization
Skills
- Previous knowledge in engineering fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
Hourly pay rate of $20.00 for the internship program.
Schedule
Work schedule is designed to accommodate academic commitments, allowing interns to focus on school and homework.

Location
This is an onsite position at the Mercedes-Benz Vans plant in Ladson, South Carolina. The facility manufactures Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian markets and is a key part of the global production network, including the upcoming production of the all-new eSprinter starting in 2024.
