Engineering Intern

About the role

We are a local leader in cutting tool manufacturing based in Saginaw, seeking a local engineering student to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience well beyond just a summer internship and exposure in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Clean up remaining tasks following the transition from PMdatabase to MaintainX.
• Transfer additional information from PMdatabase into MaintainX.
• Apply new machine QR coded asset tags and attach equipment photos to MaintainX records.
• Review equipment preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure accuracy and sensibility.
• Verify that critical equipment PMs are present and accurate in the system.
• Add building and facility-related PMs into MaintainX.
• Develop and improve work order templates.
• Maintain and improve our maintenance management system.
• Support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled local college student, preferably in engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel is required.
• Reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work 10-20 hours per week during school and full-time during the summer; we are willing to accommodate school schedules.
