Engineering Intern - 1373

About the role

This is an hourly, non-exempt entry-level Engineering Department Intern position at West Star Aviation.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering drawings to support company projects
• Maintenance and care of the department’s 3D printer
• Work independently on projects as assigned
• Assist Team Leaders and technicians in support of programs
• Create and submit engineering drawings and illustrations on CAD software
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year completed in Engineering or related technical course work
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required
• AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks or related CAD software experience preferable (including CAD coursework)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with aircraft maintenance and repair helpful

Qualifications

• Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language
• Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation to get to work each day
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Compliance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines
• Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties
• Customer-oriented work habits

Skills

• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in reading/researching aircraft technical data

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $18 - $20. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance.

Schedule

The schedule for this position includes 5x8, 4x10 and 3x12 shifts.
