ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST
About the role
The Engineering Geologist will function as a Field Engineer within the Northern District’s Ventura office. The incumbent will perform activities associated with the development of natural resources both independently and in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex field inspections, including underground gas storage facilities (UGS) and underground injection control (UIC).
- Perform difficult geologic and engineering work.
Requirements
This position is subject to the Department of Conservation’s Conflict of Interest code. Candidates may be precluded from employment with the department if they, or their spouse, hold interests in oil, gas, or geothermal entities.

Pay
$6,488.00 - $12,215.00 per Month
Schedule
Hybrid telework schedule, with employees required to work in-person at 4820 McGrath Street, Suite 210, Ventura, CA 93003. Effective July 1, 2025 all employees will be required to be in-office at least 4 days per week and may be eligible to telework one day per week. Alternative work locations will not be considered.
