Engineering Field Technichian

About the role

The Engineering Field Technician supports the drilling crew in the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment for environmental, geotechnical, construction, and remediation projects. This role involves assisting with site setup, equipment maintenance, sample collection, and general labor duties while learning drilling techniques and field operations. This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.

Responsibilities

• Assist drillers with mobilization, setup, and operation of drilling equipment.
• Load, unload, and maintain drilling tools, rods, casing, and support equipment.
• Collect soil, groundwater, and rock samples according to project requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work site.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Complete field documentation and support project teams as needed.
• Travel to project sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Skills

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ pounds.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous construction, drilling, environmental, or labor experience is a plus.
• Must be comfortable working outside.
• Must be able to pass MVR (will be using a work truck for travel).
• Must be comfortable traveling.
