About the role
The Engineering Director, Filtration role at Pentair is a unique opportunity to lead a talented engineering team towards operational excellence and innovation. The position is based at the company's manufacturing plant in Hanover Park, IL, and reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the category’s overall goals and objectives.
Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Lead innovation process and planning, inclusive of early-stage market research and analysis required to identify new product category adjacencies and new markets/applications.
Build future-looking product development roadmaps, with an emphasis on digital capabilities.
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team while ensuring effective collaboration and communication with the team and across functions to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Oversee the planning, execution and successful completion of engineering projects; ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources; monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality and performance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain and product management, to drive seamless integration of engineering solutions. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, foster a culture of safety within the engineering team.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with customers as needed.
Requirements
Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technically related field (water treatment, food industry, etc.), with a combination of innovation & manufacturing engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Occasional international travel is required (Innovation & Product Development: experience in guiding teams through innovation process, from market research, ideation to product development and market launch, including knowledge of prototyping, testing and scaling products).
Strong understanding of SolidWorks/CAD standards, GD&T, and engineering principles.
Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and regulatory requirements.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
Global experience (culture, business practices, regulatory etc.) will be critical to being successful in the role.
Able to lead by example and able to partner and lead partnership across global, matrixed, and cross-functional Business Units and teams.
Experience leading transformational change and serving as a change agent in partnership with leadership.
Qualifications

Pay
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is from $149,000 - $276,700 per year. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position is full-time and based at the manufacturing plant in Hanover Park, IL.
