STV has an immediate need for an Engineering Director in our Owensboro, KY office for our Transportation & Infrastructure division. This position will include office leadership and other firm-wide roles, supporting current staff while assisting in growing the Kentucky practice to better service clients statewide. The role offers leadership at an Engineer News-Record (ENR) Top 50 rated firm, collaborating with various agencies in Kentucky and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Practice building, mentorship, and skill development of professional staff.
- Lead business development and proposal efforts for Transportation and Infrastructure projects.
- Manage multi-discipline technical teams to deliver projects to clients.
- Negotiate and establish project budgets, staffing, project coordination, and productivity to deliver exceptional services.
- Coordinate with other directors/leaders to ensure consistent technical standards and applications on projects.
- Perform and manage diverse and complex discipline work tasks requiring extensive planning, communication, and management skills.
- Collaborate with multi-discipline professionals within the project team to integrate independent and interrelated actions for project goals.
- Develop and nurture key client relationships and leverage existing relationships for future work opportunities.
- Work with practice and office leadership on client development, business development, and industry participation.
- Assist with public involvement efforts and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Planning (Master’s Degree a plus).
- Minimum 15 years of Transportation and Infrastructure experience.
- Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Direct experience in successfully delivering transportation projects.
- Experience assessing leadership for multi-discipline projects with high technical complexity.
- Experience working with transportation agencies including federal, state, and local authorities.
- Demonstrated Transportation and Infrastructure practice development and management capability.
- Experience with Business Development and Operations management.
- Experience with Owensboro area agencies, KYTC, and other Kentucky-based agencies.
- Strong reputation with major clients, knowledge of market opportunities in Kentucky, and business development skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven project management skills, with experience overseeing complex transportation projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Pay
Compensation range: $175,234.85 – $194,705.39.
